30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Calling all Squishmallow fans! During this one time class each student will be asked to bring at least one Squishmallow. Everyone will have time to share something about themselves and their favorite Squishmallow. Once everyone (that wants to) has had a chance to share, I'll ask questions to continue the discussion. We'll draw a picture of a Squishmallow and hopefully make some new friends. If there's time, we will imagine a group story with everyone's Squishmallow as a character. Feel free to bring more than one Swishmallow so that we can create lots of squishy happiness as a group.
Learning Goals
Students will have a safe place to practice social skills and gain confidence sharing in a group. Students will enjoy sharing something they enjoy with others like them.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm Susan Richardson. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I have 29 years teaching experience. I have taught 13 years in the traditional classroom and 16 years in the library. I also have 8 years’ experience as a reading interventionist and have taught 3 years online.
I adore children’s literature and enjoy sharing it with others. I believe that enjoying reading has lead to much of the success I've had in life. I want to encourage others to find that same joy. My classes are full of laughter and learning. Everyone is welcome in my classroom. My goal is to make every student feel so comfortable they forget they are learning.
When I’m not teaching, I hang out with my husband and 2 teenage children. We live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
