I will be teaching learners about the law of inertia and how it impacts an object's motion. We will learn about Sir Isaac Newton and his work as well. Information will be presented through a combination of lecture, google slide show, video clips, demonstration, and hands on investigation. Students will have the chance to design and conduct scientific investigations that will apply the laws of inertia. We will discuss how the law of inertia plays a role in our daily lives. All students are welcome to participate even if they don't have access to all of the lab supplies. They can follow along and learn how to conduct the experiments so they can try them out at a later time.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify and explain the law of inertia.
Students will design and conduct a lab investigation that demonstrates the law of inertia at work.
Students will analyze their data and observations to draw conclusions about motion and forces.
