Homework
1-2 hours per week. Homework will be assigned weekly to help learners apply the concepts through various exercises. Additionally, there will be recording assignments to further enhance their practice and understanding.

Class Experience

OBJECTIVES
This course will allow students will further develop their speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish through pre-recorded video lectures. Each class will be complemented with different in-class activities for speaking, grammar, and writing. Learners will have a chance to work via video messaging with the teacher to improve their speaking. The topics covered included are listed in the syllabus. 

𝐒𝐘𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐔𝐒
𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟏: 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐀𝐝𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬
This module will be taught in two parts. Learners will learn about possessive and demonstrative adjectives, neuter demonstrative pronouns, adjectives of nationality, and adjectives that precede a noun. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟐: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 & 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬
For the second part of the module, students will learn about comparative & superlative adjectives, irregular comparatives & superlatives, comparing nouns & verbs, adverbs, and adverbs that do not take the suffix -mente. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟑: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 & 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬; 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬  
In this module, students will learn about comparative & superlative adjectives, irregular comparatives & superlatives, comparing nouns & verbs, adverbs, and adverbs that do not take the suffix -mente. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟒: 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 
Learners will learn how to negate sentences and the uses of different negatives. In addition, learners will learn about prepositions followed by verbs or nouns, prepositions followed by nouns or pronouns, and pronouns that are followed by propositions. The preposition 'por' will be discussed along with comparing the differences between 'por' and 'para'. Learners will read about a short story "El Circo", which will also be recorded for the instructor to improve pronunciation. The vocabulary that will be introduced in this module will relate to nature and weather topics. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟓: 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Learners will develop their knowledge about prepositions followed by verbs or nouns, prepositions of place, pronouns that follow prepositions, and the preposition por. You will be able to have additional opportunities to practice your skills with Quizlet. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟔: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭
Learners will read "El trabajo" in class, where they will have a chance to work more on translation without the use of a translator. Students will learn about the verb 'gustar' and the indirect object that will cover the following: Me gusta and me gustan, Te gusta and te gustan, Le gusta and les gustan.

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟕: 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 & 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬
Learners will also learn about verbs similar to gustar, the position of the indirect object pronoun. Learners will learn read a short story called "Ir de compras", which will be accompanied by an in-class activity presenting a pretend life situation where students buy things from one another in Spanish. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟖: 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬!
Learners will warm up with the short story "El viaje" in class and will work collectively on a translation without the use of an online translator. Each learner will give a presentation about a place they have traveled to or wish to travel to in the future in Spanish. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟗: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 '𝐚' 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬
Learners will learn about the personal 'a', the indirect object pronoun attached to the infinitive, direct object and transitive verbs. In this module, learners will learn about the position of the direct object pronoun and the direct object pronoun as a person and thing. Learners will read "La bienvenida" in class to continue developing their reading comprehension.

Learners will have the opportunity to share their script presentations in Spanish. Learners will learn about the personal 'a' and the direct object and transitive verbs. In this module, learners will learn about the position of the direct object pronoun and the direct object pronoun as a person and thing. Learners will read "La bienvenida" in class to continue developing their reading comprehension. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟏𝟐 & 𝟏𝟑: 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬
Learners will learn about reflexive pronouns, frequently used reflexive verbs and reflexive verbs whose English translations do not necessarily include oneself. Learners will understand the position of the reflexive noun and its uses in the following ways: parts of the body and clothing, that express emotion and movement, and to express "to become". Learners will learn about the reflexive verbs with reciprocal meanings, se, and impersonal pronouns. Learners will record a short story "El encuentro" to work on the pronunciation.

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟏𝟒: 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬; 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬
Learners will begin class by presenting their short stories that use reflexive pronouns. They will learn about reflexive verbs with reciprocal meanings and how to conjugate reflexive verbs. Learners will learn about 'se' and impersonal expressions. 

𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟏𝟓: 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 
Learners will be participating in a collective review that includes: Possessive and Demonstrative adjectives, Comparative and Superlative Adjectives, Negatives, prepositions, verbs like Gustar, the Indirect Object, Transitive Verbs, the Direct Object, and Reflexive Verbs. This review will be tailored to help learners prepare for their final project.

Students will do a final project where they will present on a grammatical subject discussed throughout the duration of the course.
