Not only do I have a degree in education and experience teaching children of all ages, but I also own and manage a business from home where I create soaps and candles. I love soap making and make all of the soap we use in our own home. Soap making is a great way to express creativity all while learning and having fun.

We will only be physically making melt and pour soap as well as two other projects involving pre-made soap (hand soap and castile soap) due to the potential hazard of using lye. If your child wishes to experiment with the other methods of soap making discussed in this course (hot or cold process), please be aware that this will require parental help, supervision, and proper safety precautions and equipment, as lye is extremely dangerous. Additionally, during the final session, when we make our melt and pour soap, a parent may want to be available to cut the melt-and-pour base and help with heating/melting.
