Class Experience

In this fun and relaxed class, students will get to interact with peers who share their love of all things car or truck! Best of all, low to no prep for grownups!

Each meeting will begin with a show and tell of each learner’s current favorite car or truck. Then, we will all participate in a fun activity together. We will share stories, explore our senses, and even participate in brief science or STEM experiments. 

Please check the classroom each week for simple, household supplies needed before each class meeting. Sample weeks are listed below:

Week of: (suggested supplies)
1/6: Parts of a car & types of cars (coloring page, bring different types as examples)
1/13: Types of Trucks (shape truck- construction paper, glue needed)
1/20: How cars move (toy car, construction paper, tape, optional straw)
1/27: Traffic signs & movement game (coloring page)
2/3: Race cars (large paper, marker, optional timer)
2/10: Cars of the future (play-doh or clay or equivalent)
2/14: Crash! (simple ramp, several toy cars)


Past topics:
Week of 10/31: Colorful car rainbow (try to bring a car for each color of the rainbow!) 
Week of 11/6: Painting with tires! (washable paint, drawing paper or scrap cardboard)
Week of 11/14: Car & truck bingo
Week of 11/21: Guessing game
Week of 12/5: Car craft (paper plate or cardboard scrap, crayons, scissor, glue)
Week of 12/13: I have, who has game 12/20: Cars in sensory snow (box of baking soda, 1/2 cup hair conditioner)
  12/27: "I have, who has" (modified scavenger hunt for cars)
  1/10: Build a Car Wash (Cardboard box, scissors, tape/glue, construction paper)
  1/17: Paper Tunnels (construction or scrap paper, tape)
  1/31: Jumping obstacles
    2/7: Car scavenger hunt
   2/21: Rainbow Racers (try to bring car for each color of the rainbow)
   2/28: Paint shop (washable paints, brushes/sponge)
   3/6: Carwash (soap, warm water, brushes)
   3/14: Car & Truck Bingo (printable PDF)
   3/28: Jump contest (measuring distance jumped by cars)
