Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
*This class is aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

Do you love Science? Do you love art and play dough? Then let's have fun creating while learning about the world around us! In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to the different sciences while building with Play-Doh. Students will learn interesting facts about weather, moon phases, fossils, rocks, and more. Students will construct many different science-related models. Learners will need at least four cans of play-dough. Students may use more colors for a more detailed model (5-7 cans of Play-Dough or clay). I will be using a second spotlighted camera to show step-by-step directions as we make and learn about science together. Handouts will be provided before each class. Students may print it out to use as a reference or mat to work on. I will talk and ask questions about while creating. Students can share their finished masterpieces in class or by posting pictures in the classroom. No previous knowledge needed! You can take this part 2 science camp before my first one if you'd like. The topics do not build off one another Join anytime you want!

Each class will include a range of teaching methods and activities that are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes will include Q&A, slideshow, fun facts, hands-on activities, worksheets, songs, videos and much more. Learners will be encouraged to observe, explore, question and share what they learn. A variety of methods are used to support learners and cater for different learning styles and needs.
