Snowflakes and Science: What Is the Lifecycle of a Snowflake?

Hello families and learners!

My name is Erin (she/her) and I am excited to meet you! A few things about me are:
📚I love books and visiting my community library. 
☕ My favorite coffee is an horchata latte 
⚽ My family loves our city's professional soccer team games (Go Sporting and Current!) 

Here's what's important to me as a teacher:
💜 Your learner is deserving of respect and I will always respect them as an individual on their unique learning journey 
💜 My role is to spark interest and joy whether your learner takes one class or multiple classes with me
💜 My teaching style and personality leans toward calm and peaceful, sprinkled with a bit of silliness here and there
💜 In life and teaching, I gravitate towards simplicity and minimalism so this will be reflected in my classes. Keeping it simple for your family is my goal, as well!
💜 Every learner can show up exactly as they are and how they are feeling that day. Just like adults, we have great days, bad days, and somewhere in the middle days :)

Here's what kind of classes you'll usually find me teaching:
Every class I teach will incorporate Montessori-inspired methods. We will use concrete experiences and materials as much as possible to learn about the world around us and our place in it. I will also follow your learner's interest and ability to guide them through the lesson. Check out my class listings to see current offerings!

Here's what I've been up to the last decade:
My professional experience spans over 12 years. I've worked with children and their families in a variety of educational settings including childcare, traditional public schools, private therapy centers, and more. I was also a Head Start Family Services Specialist and Mental Health Specialist. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Human Services and a minor in Spanish. My relevant training includes:

1. Autism Therapy training (Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training)
2. Conscious Discipline training (Social-Emotional curriculum for school and home)
4. English as a Second Language strategies 
5. Montessori method (classroom and homeschool) 
6. Reading Mastery curriculum (Pre-K-1st grade)
7. Trauma-informed care training (birth-adulthood)
8. Anti-Bias and Anti-Racist training (Britt Hawthorne)
