I am an art teacher with a degree in education from Ukraine. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I used to teach after school art classes for elementary students at local schools and home-schoolers. I write and design my own curriculum and design majority of my art projects that are open-ended and have a lot of room for self-expression, individuality, and innovation. Also, I love exploring new ways of combining art with other disciplines like science and using ordinary art materials in new and unusual ways. I believe that art and creative thinking are beneficial to everyone. Creative skills are absolutely essential in problem solving and any other area of life -- mathematics, engineering, dancing, design, photography -- the list goes on and on. I started teaching art classes mostly for my daughter when she was just a preschooler. She is a senior in college now and I have seen how she's grown to apply these creative skills in how she studies, researches, and even how she cooks! I am still teaching art and creative thinking to other children and I love seeing my students' excitement as they discover that the world is open to so many unique possibilities. I am looking forward to sharing new art ideas with your children and learning theirs as well.
