Class Experience

This class will expose your child to a very popular language in America- American Sign Language! It is estimated that American Sign Language is used by approximately 500,000 people in the United States alone. It is fun and easy to learn, which makes it a popular choice for a foreign language. We will briefly explore the roots of sign language and then we will dive right in and begin learning some of our most popular signs. Your child will leave the class with a sense of accomplishment and begging to learn more! The theme changes based on seasons and holidays of the year.

Hello! My name is Amanda and I have worked with children for 12 years. I am a certified Early Childhood-6th grade Bilingual teacher. I have taught students of all ages in both English and Spanish. I truly love learning and teaching languages, as well as teaching fitness! I began learning American Sign Language in high school and throughout the years I have learned a bit of French, Italian, and am currently learning Chinese. In the past, I also taught English to students in China and I absolutely loved it! It is amazing to see how much growth can take place in the online classroom. I spent 4 years teaching in the Dual-Language in the public school classroom and also worked as a Supplemental Service provider of Special Education services in charter schools. I would love to bring my passion for language, health, fitness, writing, and storytelling to students from around the world. I am also a mother of 2 young children, age 4 and 2. Education has a big place in our home and I often use tried and true strategies that maximize learning and have proven to work in both the formal classroom and at home. I hope to meet you soon in the classroom! If you have any questions of would like to request a specific class or service- please, don't hesitate to ask!
