During this short session, your student will participate in a presentation that at its conclusion, they will have the knowledge about the process of using the scientific method and will have completed a science fair project.

Recall basic facts and concepts presented.
Explain ideas or concepts.
Use information learned to create a potential science fair project idea.
Draw connections among ideas-Organize steps to their science fair project idea.
Justify a stand or decision-Critique their educated guess about what will happen in the project.

Homework Offered
Students will be asked to individually continue to develop their science fair ideas. Week 1: Topic and research/review the literature Week 2: Question and hypothesis Week 3: Test your hypothesis Week 4: Prepare and explain the results. Draw conclusions Week 5: Present your project
2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be informally assessed on the strength of their selected science fair topic with respect to its ability to conform to the scientific method. They will be evaluated on their completion of their science project.
Grades Offered
This short course will require handouts provided by the teacher.

Materials for the science experiment

Parents will be asked to assist with certain part of the project such as purchasing supplies with the student. However, the science fair project should be independently completed by the student.
