Description

Class Experience

Students will learn how to navigate the Scratch website on their own.
Students will learn how to create a basic project in Scratch.
I have taught a unit on Scratch for the last 3 years every semester and my students always LOVE it. I am able to teach it to the students in such a fun way that they are challenged but not stressed! Whether your student is a natural with computers, or doesn't have much experience, they will be challenged and learn.
There will be no homework as this is a One-time class. The purpose of it is to get students comfortable enough with the program that they can begin creating their own projects after our class.
Students will have to create an account on the website "scratch.mit.edu" It will require a username, birth date, email address, and country. Their actual name is not needed and not suggested. A vocabulary list will be released to students once the class begins. No need to bring anything to class other than a device with internet!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Immediate feedback via screen sharing and talking with each other will be the main way students are assessed.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
