Ready to code your own games? Join us for this Beginner Level Code-a-thon! Kids will create and publish 5 different video games using block coding on the Scratch platform. This Summer camp is for students who have no coding experience.

Class Experience

DOCTOWNTCAMP15
🌍 This is a beginners, project based, coding  boot camp for kids who have never coded before. This class helps students learn by making and playing fun games.  Project based classes encourage students to learn by doing.

🤓 Each day, coders will make a new video game using teacher guidance.  By the end of the week, students will have five (5) fully working games or animations that they can play and share...

At the end of the one week boot camp, students will be able to use sprites, coding blocks, and backgrounds to code real games on Scratch.

Students are welcome to mod games we code in class.

Students will need to work on side by side windows or two separate devices (one can be a phone). No downloads are required but students must have a laptop or desktop to access the platform where we will code.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Scratch

No assessments will be made.

4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
