This is a book of "scary stories" - set in nature with animal characters, the "scary" comes from real natural elements (a fox with rabies, a picked-on runt of the litter, being hunted by humans for their fur/tails etc.). If your child is highly sensitive toward animals, it may be best to read this book first to get a better idea of how your child might respond.
