Class experience
Students will expand their learning of the saxophone through rhythm, technique and the performance of simple songs. Week 1- Review of "basic" saxophone needs. Including but not limited to the following: hand position, embouchure, note names for the first 5 notes, basic rhythms (whole, half and quarter notes/ rests). Performance of simple songs. Week 2- Review of week 1 songs. We will continue with the addition of 2 right hand notes (F natural and F sharp) and perform songs. Week 3-...
Students will be able to perform simple songs using the left hand of the instrument and begin using the right hand with proper hand position. Students will perform basic rhythmic skills and learn notation reading.
I have over 20 years experience teaching public school and private lessons. I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam), and a Master of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign. I am currently a 7/8th grade instrumental music teacher in New York State.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
