RPG Maker: Dive Into Making RPGs

Role Playing Games, (aka RPGs), are a staple of the video game industry. These types of games come in all shapes and sizes, but all share some core elements that give it the RPG feel. One such element is the worlds in which these exciting stories take place. Maybe your world is a lush canvas of greenery, where nature is king, or maybe you're exploring the galaxy, with endless new planets to explore! Another important element to RPGs are the characters which inhabit your worlds! Perhaps we'll meet a friendly wizard, a talking horse or an evil alien. You could even put yourself and your friends into your games, the possibilities are endless! It's also difficult to mention RPGs and not talk about quests and the adventure players are taken on. They can take many different forms, from finding an item to building a castle for a newly appointed king or using a spaceship to find new alien life! The only limit to your RPG worlds is your imagination and our workshops aim to provide students with the tools and techniques needed to create their very own Role Playing Games!

There are three key components to this workshop, which when completed, will result in your very own piece of your RPG worlds. Alongside their instructor, learners will:
>>> Unleash their creativity to develop a fantasy world all of their own
>>> Explore and become familiar with the RPG Maker MV toolkit
>>> Learn what it takes to turn your RPG ideas into a fully playable game

We're currently offering several sessions of our Dive into RPGs Workshop. With different topics to choose from, each session offers a different aspect of creating an RPG! By the end of each workshop, students will a functional piece of an RPG which can be used as a foundation to expand their games even further!
