Class Experience
US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this private, 1:1 class, your student will have the opportunity to read aloud one of their favorite books to an engaged, entertaining and experienced literacy tutor. This class is born of my passion for reading and fostering confident readers! Because of the personalized format, I will ensure that your student feels comfortable trying, making mistakes, and trying again! I will be providing specific reading correction & a short explanation/mini-lesson on the reason for the reading correction. For example, if a student reads [gem] with a hard letter g sound, I will give a quick and supportive reminder of the spelling rule that tells us the letter g is soft in this word, pronounced as /j/. 👩🏫 If I note consistent reading errors, detailed feedback will be provided to the parents and I would suggest my Personal Reading Tutoring class for in-depth reading instruction. 👩🎓I have completed a 120-Science of Reading Certification program, have flourished as an online educator for the past five years, and have personally homeschooled and taught reading to my own four children. 🎒 If your learner's goal is to read chapter books while deepening reading comprehension skills, please book my "Read With Me" class instead. REFUND POLICY If a student is more than 10 minutes late, it will be considered a missed class, per Outschool policy and the class is not eligible for a refund. SCHEDULING Currently, this class is by request only. Please send me a message to discuss scheduling.
Learning Goals
