Rainbow Reading Level 1

Reading is one of the most important subjects taught in school.  For some it does not come as easy as it does for others. I want to help the children become excellent readers.  I taught reading classes for 1st thru 3rd grades and had great success. This class if focused on children who are on a high kindergarten reading level or a low first grade reading level.

I will be teaching out of a few books (IE: Wonders and Phonics for Reading, and SRA Early Intervention).  Homework will be minimal; read for 20 min. two times a week and finishing any worksheets that were not finished in class. There will not be an assessment at the end of the section,

This is a small group, no more than 3 students and all work during class times will be as a group.  This will allow me to give them more attention. All classwork will be emailed before each class and will need to be printed before class starts. Students will need to have the worksheets, and a writing utensil.  

My teaching style is casual, I like to have fun with the students.  My main goal is to ensure that each child leaves this section on a higher reading level.

Students are encouraged to ask questions during the lecture to make sure that they are understanding the group work.  As stated above, there will be assigned homework for each class to be done outside the classroom environment.  It will be maximum of 60 min. per week.

I will start class promptly at the designated time you have signed up for.  All times are MST.  Please have your child(ren) signed in and prepared with their supplies.
