Quadratics is one of the last topics you will learn in Algebra I (USA Curriculum) or Grade 10 Math (Canadian Curriculum). This introductory module is for students who want an overview of quadratics and an explanation of its three equations. We will also be naming the methods we use to transition from one equation to another. This, however, will be discussed more in depth in subsequent modules. The following will be addressed in this module: - A brief review of linear equations (y = mx + b) and the lessons that we take from it. - The definition of a quadratic equation, its shape as a graph (parabola), and its important points. - The three different quadratic equations (standard, factored and vertex form) - What these three equations focus on and how to extract this information - An introduction to the methods we use to move from one equation to another which will be covered in other modules What students will need: - A solid foundation of the previous topics in Algebra I (USA) or Grade 9 Math (Canadian). Students should be comfortable with the following topics: - Solving single variable algebraic equations - Working with Linear Equations y=mx+b - Graphing Equations on an X and Y axis (Cartesian Plane) - Paper, pencils, and a calculator (preferably with fraction functionality) Class Structure: - Math notes and examples will be done live through the Zoom Platform - Students are encouraged to take notes AFTER the session and work through the provided worksheets in order to cement class concepts

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Mohamed Masroor and I specialize in teaching High School Math and Sciences. Since 2015, I've taught 100s of students having a variety of backgrounds, learning styles, motivations, and goals. How I'm able to do this is simply because my teaching style is adaptive -one that is based on YOUR child's needs, not mine.
Unfortunately, with the significant push for post-secondary education, not enough is being done at the high-school level to prepare students for this daunting challenge. It is my passion to prep these students not only on the essential foundation, but the life-long learning skills they'll have to depend on as well.
However, tutoring is not a magic fix, and getting to your goal is not often easy. But if you're willing to put in the work, stay motivated, and persevere through the challenges, we can achieve excellence together!
