Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Does your child struggle with reading or does your child simply need extra practice with his or her reading skills? In this one-on-one class your child will work with me on beginning reading skills to build confidence and develop a love of reading. We will read, write, trace, sing, and use leveled readers as appropriate. Each class will focus on one or more of the following skills, depending on your child's needs: consonant and vowel sounds, sight words, CVC words, CVCe words, blends, digraphs, spelling, reading fluency, and more

Supply List
-Paper and pencil OR whiteboard and marker -If students have leveled readers that they would like to bring to class, they are welcome to do so! If not, we will use the books I have available.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Elementary Education and was a full-time classroom teacher for 11 years. I taught grades K-3, but first grade was my favorite! I have also been an online ESL teacher and a substitute teacher. This year I am excited to start a new teaching adventure: homeschool!
I live in Illinois with my husband and two boys. We love playing outside, watching movies, and going to Disneyworld! I also love cooking, baking, reading, and drawing.
