Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 8
Beginner Level
Each meeting will be tailored to what your child needs. Prior to the start of the session, families will be notified and asked to specifically communicate what their child needs support in. This will allow the instructor to prepare and make the best of the time allotted with each student. Topics include but not limited to: Order of operations Operations using Multiplication/Division/Addition/Subtraction Long Division Fractions, decimals, percents, ratios Solving for Variables Geometry Graphing Word Problems Finding area/perimeter Combining like terms Algebra Pre-Algebra Exponents Square roots, Mean, median, mode Real Numbers, Integers (positive and negative numbers) Functions All content between Grades 4 and 8! Puzzles and Games! Math should be enjoyable! Each session is conducted in a fun, low-stress yet educational setting. I try to ask students questions and help fill gaps when necessary. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and revisit problems they made mistakes to learn from. I feel encouragement is important as sometimes the focus in math is on what they don’t know vs. what they do know.
Learning Goals
Students will become more confident and improve their knowledge in math. They will also learn that math is beyond just answer getting but is about communicating ideas with others and seeking out answer to why mathematical concepts work.
