In this ongoing class students will explore addition and subtraction math strategies while interacting with their peers. Students will be given two math problems per class, one addition problem and one subtraction problem. Students will work problems on their own, and then we will spend time sharing our strategies with the class. This is a perfect class to practice addition and subtraction skills they have already learned, as well as learn some new strategies from their peers. Students do not need to have mastered any addition or subtraction skills to be successful in this class. I can't wait to see all of the amazing learning your child will do! Week 1 (1/12/22): Basic Addition and Subtraction Week 2 (1/19/22) : Basic Addition and Subtraction Week 3 (1/26/22): Making 10 Week 4 (2/2/22): Decomposing 10 Week 5 (2/9/22): Adding and Subtracting within 20

Hello! My name is Kristina and I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 12 years. I love teaching, and I feel like it is the most rewarding job in the world! Over the last twelve years, I have taught kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Arkansas, a Master of Education degree in Theory and Practice from Arkansas State, and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas. I believe students should be able to dive deep into their interests and learn about what they love so that they will continue to be lifelong learners. My goal is to offer a variety of topics that students may not get a lot of practice in during their regular school day, and classes that they may just need some extra practice in.
