Class Experience This is a Class where I spend more time personally with each student's needs. I will learn what your child's ability is and develop the class from that. I will teach them how to read music, how to play scales, and different songs. I do try to motivate them to practice, however, this is really up to them. They will progress well if they practice 30 minutes each day. My classes do not require books, but if they have one, I can help them with it. I prefer to teach in a more silly, and fun way. We draw on the board and play games. I want them to be able to play songs for your friends and family. I think that this helps to boost a child's self-esteem, and helps them to develop bonds with loved ones. I do not teach certain songs including holiday and patriotic songs, but will teach them the skills they need in order to apply it to any of the songs that they choose to play. This class will contain many online games and is a very interactive class. I will also be giving you free resources for them to continue their learning. I want them to really have fun playing music, and I know that it can get very expensive purchasing music books. So I have found easier, less expensive ways to find songs. I am available for you to message in between classes if you need any help. I hope to see you soon.

I am a patient, and kind teacher, with a background in Music and Teaching. I have a lot of passion for music and look for different ways to make piano fun to learn. I also am currently enrolled in my 7th year in a class that teaches you to be a better speaker and teacher. This class has helped me to gain patience, to reach a person's heart, and to be efficient in my teaching abilities. I can be a bit goofy sometimes, but the kids seem to really like that. I am also a homeschooling mother of a and I understand how important it is that our children are enjoying learning. I am all for NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND... and THAT INCLUDES THE ONES THAT ARE AHEAD. I feel that children need to be met on different levels; some require more time, and some require more challenges. I will go at their pace. I don't mind extra work to reach someone's heart. I hope that you let me help you to teach your child...
When teaching Piano, I use fun games, and a lot of drawing on the board, teaching them how to find free resources to help them play songs that they love. NO BOOKS ALLOWED. ha ha. I do not use books in my teaching. I was a child who quit piano because it was so boring, and I don't want that for my students... I like to teach them to play songs...and learn technique later...when they aren't looking, I sneak it in there. My goal is to keep them loving learning the piano.
I have also taken courses in ASL in order to help those in our deaf community to learn the different things that I teach.... I have been teaching ASL for a couple of years now, and have had great success with the kids learning it quickly. I think that by including them in the learning process of not only learning the ABC's, but learning to spell their names, it helps it to sink in faster.
