Class Experience

In this one-time course, I will start with a PowerPoint presentation about outer space. Since we will be making outer space slime, we will talk about how the universe is stretching, moving, bending and being pulled in different directions! The basic topics covered will be about gravity, how space bends, and black holes. After the PowerPoint, we will make our sparkly Galaxy slime! No previous knowledge needed. Extra glitter or added scent is up to the individual. We will be making the slime together in class, so please make sure to read all materials/ ingredients needed first! Additionally, an outer space coloring sheet created by me and a review sheet of what we learned in the class will be sent to each student.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about space and also will gain hands on crafting experience while making their slime.

Hi there!
My name is Marie and I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. In my earlier college days I was enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program, and I have direct experience working with children ages 2-22. Some of the subjects that I am passionate about learning and teaching are: astronomy, drawing, animals and earth science! My philosophy behind my teaching is that each student learns differently, and I would like to provide an open-minded environment to help each child maximize their abilities. I enjoy allowing my students to have as much verbal participation as possible!

Some fun facts about me: I have an 11 year old daughter. I have had many types of pets including birds, cats, mice, hamsters, fish, hermit crabs and a tarantula! My 2 most favorite things are astronomy and Halloween. I also work as a special education paraprofessional.! I am excited to meet you and hope to see you in some of my classes!
