Join us as we experiment and explore! In this class we will conduct experiments, hands-on projects and make models that illustrate a diverse array of scientific principles. Physics, biology, chemistry, botany, oceanography, geology, and zoology will all come together as we sample experiments from each, utilizing household items and supplies. Each week we will discuss a new topic, from any of the fields mentioned above. Then we will explore the new concept with a hands-on experiment, project...
Students will learn a variety of scientific principles from different fields.
During my time working in Montessori schools I was given the opportunity to design and implement a summer camp program that integrated scientific and cultural exploration with hands-on projects. One of our camp sessions was a STEM camp that provided campers with an experiential opportunity to apply what they were learning about various scientific fields. It was a joy to teach and assist my students as they conquered these previously uncharted territories and I am only too happy to replicate that adventure here on Outschool.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Glue, paint and other potentially messy ingredients are used. Ensure that your learner can use the recommended supplies independently.
