In this one-time course (potentially meeting more than once!) I will play creative Minecraft with your learner and gently encourage the use of programming and creative thinking to build cool things.

Class experience

-Thinking creatively in two and three dimensions.
-Understanding color in Minecraft
-Understanding textures in Minecraft
-Creatively thinking of color conflict solutions, for example when a color in the source material does not have a corresponding color in Minecraft what do you do?
- Basic understanding of what is a "voxel" and what is a "pixel"
- Basic understanding of math in 3 dimensions, what is an "axis"
- If your learner is interested (not the parents, the learner!) I can show how programming can be used to help make art.
I have a master's degree in computer science and a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics. I am also a CASA, and comfortable working with kids from a wide variety of backgrounds.
