New Math Strategies/Addition

For this course basic addition skills are preferred. A list of supplies will be posted on the classroom page prior to each class.
We will spend each week addressing the new addition strategies that are being used in classrooms across the U.S. This course can serve as an introduction or a course to gain better understanding, though we will be adding multi-digit numbers. We will be learning through a variety of strategies including slides, examples and hands-on activities. Each day will be devoted to it's own strategy therefore it is not necessary to attend in any specific order or any specific number of sections. For addition we will rotate between teaching partial sums one week and column addition the next.
