Beginner Level
In this class, students will learn a lot of different strategies to help master multiplication facts/equations. Students will learn that there are many different ways to arrive at the product to a multiplication equation than just memorization. I will cover different strategies such as drawing arrays, dot trick, skip-counting, drawing equal groups, discovering patterns for different multiplication facts, etc. This class will be structured to meet twice a week for eight weeks. We will start off by reviewing what multiplication is, then I have broken down the facts 2-12 over the course of eight weeks. I will teach through a hands-on method. Students will need something to write with for each session. We will do a lot of practice and independent work during the sessions. My teaching style is allowing the students to practice and make mistakes. Making mistakes is a part of learning and it helps us become better at what we are working on. Learners will interact with me through discussions and explaining their thinking/why they solved a problem the way they did.

Review of What Multiplication Is
In this lesson we will have a brief review of what it actually means to multiply. We will understand the meaning behind "equal groups" and that multiplication is simply just repeated addition. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Multiplication with Arrays
We will learn to multiply by creating arrays. These arrays will help when we come across a multiplication equation we are unsure of. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Multiplication Through Dot Trick
We will practice multiplying through a dot trick that is very handy. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Multiplying by 2s, 4s, and 8s
In this lesson we will practice multiplying by 2s, 4s, and 8s. 30 mins online live lesson
