Class experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Intermediate Level
Learners will participate in an authentic learning experience that brings together multiple disciplines. Learners will:
1. utilize decision making skills
2. apply and expand their skills of across multiple disciplines
3. work through a wide range of real-life scenarios
As a learner, I have preferred classes where I could be active in my learning and test my ideas and skills. That is where the idea for the Music Careers Series developed.

For over a decade I served as a public school music teacher for the performing arts and academic music. I have taught ages preschool through high school, with all of my career including 5th - 8th grade. As a music teacher, I was a multi-time recipient of grants to fund my programs and the project team for 3 different music education non-profit organizations. For the next decade, I was an account manager and project manager in the government sector. As a holder of a Masters of Music, a CAPM certification from Project Management International, and 20 years of music and business experience, I am excited to share my love of the world of work through these authentic learning experiences.
Homework Offered
Learners will participate in the in-class portion through a guided story telling experience. At the end of the story, they will work through a project that solves for the current needs of the situation, and share their work back through the OutSchool platform.

Learners will receive feedback in a conversational manner to enhance thinking, validate decisions, or expand the discussion to explore more ways of thinking through a problem. Each mini project explores and provides experiences that are mapped back to the National Standards for the interdisciplinary subject.
