Beginner Level
Have you ever dreamed of turning your hobby into a money-making endeavor but don't know where to start? If so, this is the class for you. We will learn the basics of entrepreneurship and the steps to create your own business right now. No previous experience is required, as we will work through the process from start to launch together. In each class, we will discuss the daily topic and work through the activities together. I will use examples and modeling to explain how each step works. Introduction and Overview of the Course
We will discuss what it means to be an entrepreneur and explore the pros and cons of starting your own business. The students will then brainstorm several ideas while the teacher will facilitate in narrowing them down to realistic, age-appropriate business concepts.

Lesson 2:
Creating a Business Plan
Students will learn what a business plan is and the importance of having one. Together we will go over the parts of the business plan and create a customized plan for each student's business idea.

Lesson 3:
Business Finances
Students will learn about income and expenses as it pertains to their business. They will learn basic bookkeeping and how to determine profit and loss. We will also discuss setting SMART goals and reinvesting into your business for future growth.

Lesson 4:
Marketing
We will go over creating a marketing plan and the different avenues for customer acquisition. We will discuss words that sell and go through various strategies for advertising in an age-appropriate way.

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University
In addition to being a homeschool teacher, I am also an entrepreneur. For the past 12 years, I have been the creator and owner of a successful small business selling handmade goods through an online marketplace. I also have experience running the day-to-day operations of two other small businesses.
