Class experience

US Grade 7 - 10
It is my hope that this course will help to broaden and deepen a student’s understanding of the concept of being a citizen of the world, while sharpening their reading, writing, and thinking skills. This course is designed as a prelude to college level courses which require critical thinking, reading beyond the obvious and insight into multicultural literature.
As a homeschool parent, I have taught my children these key authors. I have also worked with a wide variety of young writers from different cultures. I have also served on an antiracist board and racial reconciliation team at two nonprofits. Presently, my young homeschooling children continue to enjoy these authors.

Cheryl R. Carter is a busy homeschooling mother, author, speaker and a college professor with a passion to help others write well. She teaches English and Creative Writing classes and has written broadly on a variety of subjects.. She is the author of several books including Organize Your Life, Chasing God and the Kids Too, Essential Writing Skills for the College Bound Student, Inspire the Writer in Your Child and Organize Your AD/HD Child. In addition to writing fiction and poetry in her spare time, she blogs regularly on issues of clarity in written communication and the family. She has a BA in English Literature and a MFA in Creative Writing and has done graduate study in Special Education. She has a Certificate in College Admission from Columbia University.
