Teacher expertise and credentials
My first foray into teaching was when I was ten years old. I tried to teach my toddler cousin to read. I have worked closely educating children ever since. I have been an assistant art teacher at a summer camp, an after care helper during high school, and have taught classes for local homeschooling groups. For the last several years, I have worked closely with local scouting troops to help members complete badgework in different areas.

I love reading and writing! To this day, I still claim that I taught myself to read. I began writing at the age of six when wrote about a boy and his pet spider. I feel that writing is one the most fun ways to get creative. I hope your child feels just as excited as I do about books and writing. I also have a special interest in words and how they came about. I have several etymology classes in the works.

Besides reading and writing, I enjoy sewing, crafts, drawing, and painting. I also love cats. My dream is to one day visit the Lanai Cat Sanctuary in Hawaii. Can you imagine being surrounded by all those cats?

I consider myself a friendly, down-to-earth teacher. I want my students to feel comfortable in my class. I encourage discussion among the participants as it is my favorite way to show that they have learned.

I look forward to meeting your child and having fun together in the classroom!
