During this course, students draw several different cartoon animals. Children have fun with Rozine's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design. Popular animal choices include: • panda • fox • unicorn • sloth • llama • flamingo • hamster • guinea pig • dog • cat • penguin • raccoon • turtle • narwhal Two cartoon characters will be drawn each session with the following weekly prompts: Week 1: Household Pets Week 2: Wild Animals (includes mythical creatures) Week 3: Farm Animals Week 4: Sea Creatures As the class is highly interactive, Rozine will ask students their favorite animal for the week's theme. A popular voting system will determine which animal(s) are drawn. In the event of a tie, Rozine will choose which animal to draw. Rozine will guide students step by step, stacking geometric shapes with pencil until the basic shape of the animal is established. A selection of eyes and mouths will be shown for artist's to pick their favorite face. Personalized details (like hats, bows, or flower crowns) can be added before students color or outline the art pieces. Rozine will share shading and texturing techniques for colored pencils. Students may use crayons, markers, gel pens, or any coloring utensils they are most comfortable with.

Supply List
Students will need either a sketchpad, or 5-10 sheets of drawing or printer paper. Pencils and erasers are a must. Coloring utensils can be crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers. A Sharpie marker is optional. Students can frame their artwork by stapling or taping it to a larger sheet of colored construction paper (also optional).

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
