Mining & Building (Minecraft) With LEGO Bricks - 8 Week Class

We'll build & learn about Minecraft Zoos, Mobs, the Nether and more in this 8-week program. We'll learn and have fun building a Minecraft world together out of LEGO® bricks.

Each program includes super-fun LEGO® building, lively discussions about the themes, games and other engaging activities. The goal is to get children socializing, sharing their creations and engaging with the group while building and learning fun STEAM concepts.

Here are the super fun activities in this class are as follows:
1. All About the Nether: Enter the Nether, the dark, sinister underworld where hostile mobs reign supreme! Bring this fiery dimension to life using LEGO® bricks, but be careful of the lava rivers!

2. Minecraft Animals: Where do the wolves, llamas, sheep, and other animals roam? On this day, you’ll create an epic zoo, worthy of the world’s blockiest creatures!

3. Minecraft Scenes: In the virtual world, development and creating are endless. With LEGO® bricks, the same holds true! Create your most marvelous scene, inspired by the Minecraft game. Will Creepers attach a house? Will Steve or Alex build an epic tower? The choices are endless and entirely yours to make!

4. Minecraft Mobs: Creepers and ghasts and spiders, oh my! The mobs are on the loose! It’s your job to bring the mob characters to life.

5. Minecraft Logo - Explore how Minecraft™ came to be! As students recreate the famous game’s logo, they learn more about its creator, non-player characters within the game, and the different ways players can craft, mine, and build in the game’s unique sandbox environment.

6. Building Blocks - Today students learn the building blocks of the Minecraft™ game—literally! In this class, students explore the different blocks used in the game to craft everything from buildings to boats and try their hand at crafting building blocks of their own. In the process, they’ll discover how easy (and fun!) it is to bring the virtual world to life using bricks!

7. Pickaxe Challenge - Students will learn about the special tools Minecraft™ players create and use for mining, building, farming, and keeping hostile mobs at bay. They even get to try their hand at crafting their own functional pickaxe and testing its durability in a fun challenge!

8. Minecraft House - The final day of class pulls the cube-shaped world of Minecraft™ through the screen and makes it come alive! Through fun activities, students find new and inventive ways to make the virtual Minecraft™ world take shape in the real one. They also take time to reflect on what they learned and discovered throughout the class as they share and apply their newfound knowledge and skills.
