German for Beginners – Interactive Conversation with a Native Speaker In this fun and engaging class, students will learn the basics of the German language through interactive conversations rather than just memorizing vocabulary. The focus will be on using German in real-life situations, making it a practical and fun way to start speaking and reading the language right away! We’ll cover simple topics such as greetings, introducing ourselves, talking about our likes and dislikes, colors, animals, and basic foods. Each lesson will include conversation speaking and reading practice, games, and activities with Fritz, my friendly dragon who only speaks German. Fritz will encourage students to communicate in German by using the words and phrases they learn during each lesson. The class is designed for young learners aged 8 to 12 years old and will be structured to maximize student interaction. Students will have plenty of opportunities to speak German with me, Fritz and with each other. We’ll use slides and fun games to make the lessons lively and engaging. My teaching style is fun, supportive, and hands-on, creating a safe space for students to learn at their own pace while encouraging them to speak confidently in German. Students will feel comfortable practicing with Fritz and me, making learning German an enjoyable experience!
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic German phrases for everyday conversation, such as greetings, talking about hobbies and preferences, and numbers. They’ll gain confidence in speaking and understanding simple German through interactive lessons and fun activities.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been teaching children for over 10 years in The Gentle Way with Horses, which has given me extensive experience in working with kids and making learning engaging and interactive. As a certified translator from Eurosprachschule in Germany, I have a strong understanding of grammar and spelling, which is essential for teaching a language effectively.
Being a native German speaker with a clear, accent-free pronunciation, I ensure that young learners develop proper pronunciation skills from the start. Additionally, I am the editor of my sister’s children’s books—she has been an educator for over 30 years. Together, we are currently working on a new children's book that is both entertaining and educational.
My background in teaching, translation, and editing children’s literature allows me to create fun, immersive, and effective German lessons tailored specifically for young learners.
About me
I was born and raised in Germany, so German is my native language. I’m also a certified translator from Eurosparchschule Germany, and I’ve been teaching for years, both in-person and online.
I focus on conversation and practical language use rather than just memorizing words.
In my German classes, we’ll learn in a fun and engaging way using conversation, games, and real-life examples to build confidence and fluency. I also like to bring lessons to life with hand puppets and playful interactions to make learning enjoyable and easy to understand. And there is always a chance to say hi to my dog Daphne during our lesson.
More about me: I love animals, especially dogs and horses. I enjoy traveling, kiteboarding, sailing, skydiving, baking and playing the piano. I also love flowers, trees, and everything that grows.
There is so much to talk about and to learn in my German lessons—I promise, it won't be boring with me!
I can’t wait to see you in class—let’s learn German together!
