By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify the main idea of a passage and distinguish it from supporting detail and will be able to summarize a passage concisely while retaining its main points.

Understanding Cause and Effect & Compare and Contrast Relationships in Texts
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify cause-and-effect relationships within texts and analyze how events are interconnected. Students will compare two texts for similarities and differences.
