In this 4-week multi-day class students will look at earthquakes, erosion and the rock cycle.
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 8
In this multi day class we will cover Earth Science topics through the use of slide show presentations, hands on demonstrations and projects for students to participate, activities such as Ka hoot will also be utilized. Students will keep weekly notes in a journal along with interactive activities and write-ups. Each class will end with students sharing what they learned during our time together. Students will learn what an earthquake is how they occur, where they occur and how we measure their intensity. We will also look at different rock types and how to identify minerals.

Students will participate in a ka hoot spiral review at the beginning of each class and will have a jeopardy game at the end of the 8 weeks.Grades Offered
Students will need the handout provided each week printed off to use. Spiral notebook for taking weekly notes. Materials for activities if they are available. They may also want mineral samples to test and determine type.
