According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a dystopian society is “a very bad or unfair society in which there is a lot of suffering, especially an imaginary society in the future, after something terrible has happened." I have been a middle school librarian for the past 15 years and my favorite genre has always been dystopian. I love that it makes you think into the future and use your imagination in a different way. I am also a middle grade author and will be publishing my first MG dystopian book in 2024.
This class is for quick, avid readers since we will be moving at a fast pace with a new book each week.
A one-page hand-out for each class will be provided in the classroom at the beginning of each week (if not earlier!) Books can either be purchased or borrowed from your local library.
