In this every other week, discussion heavy, book club, we will be delving into some of the most popular dystopian young adult novels of all times!
Class experience
US Grade 7 - 10
If your learner is in love with dystopian literature, and enjoys interacting and socializing with other book lovers, then this is the class for them! We will be reading series such as, "The Giver Quartet," "The Hunger Games Trilogy," and other of the most popular young adult dystopian novels from the past few decades. We will be reading over 20 books in all! Learners will read the novels at home, and come ready to have lively, guided, group discussions with their peers once every other...
Students will develop and strengthen their reading skills through consistent reading each week. Students will develop and strengthen their analysis and critical reading skills. Students will develop their ability to hold meaningful peer to peer discussions surrounding literature. Students will meet and develop positive relationships with peers.
Homework Offered
This is a reading intensive course, and students will be reading an entire book every two weeks between classes (i.e. one full novel every two weeks) at home prior to our class meetings.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
