Math Rewind Camp - Practice Math Concepts so You're Ready to Go (Ages 9-13)

This 5-day class goes over various topics and provides learners the practice they need to stay ahead in their math classes. Each class will cover topics that will help your child build their foundation of basic math concepts. 

This class runs Monday through Friday. At the end of the week, there will be a review game to test the learners' understanding of topics covered. For each class, there will be mini-lessons on the review concepts and then either individual or group practice depending on the number of students. Additional help may be provided, but this camp will not serve to cover a topic in its entirety.

The following is the outline for each day of the class: 

🔴Monday: Place Value and Rounding with Whole Numbers | 2 and 3 digit Addition and Subtraction Word Problems 
Practice place value identifying the value of numbers and writing them in expanded form. Then we will practice addition and subtraction word problems by rounding and estimating before solving for the answer. 

🟠Tuesday: Multiplication, Factors and Multiples | Area and Perimeter of Basic Shapes
We will practice multiplication and discuss factors and multiples. Then we will review basic 2D geometric shapes and how to calculate area and perimeter. 

🟡Wednesday: Division | Multi-step Word Problems with Four Operations
Continuing to practice our multiplication facts, we will being to work on division. Then we will solve word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

🟢Thursday: Fractions: Adding and Subtracting with Common Denominators, Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers
Introduction to fractions and how to add and subtract with common denominators. We will practice changing improper fractions into mixed numbers. 

🔵Friday: Working with Decimals | Mixed Review/Game
Decimals will be introduced. We will see how to add and subtract with decimals by going "shopping." We will then review all of the concepts that have been practiced throughout the week. 

Additional practice and resources will be made available during the week.
