Math Made Easy: Private Math Tutoring

In this 25-minute course, I provide one-on-one math instruction for K-4th grade students. I have experience teaching 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and, 4th grade students in the regular classroom. I will provide instruction to help your students be successful. This course is intended for students who are struggling with a current math skill and need extra assistance outside the classroom. Or for those who would like extension lessons and would like to focus on skills taught in a future grade level. I will model all new learning, we will practice it together, with the goal of your child mastering the skill to the point where they do not need assistance. If a student has a learning gap, I will address this academic need, so your child can move forward with their learning. I will show students a few strategies to solve a problem, but your child will choose the best strategy that works for their brain and we will continue to develop and master this one strategy. When you sign up for a class, please provide me with information: What math skill you would like me to focus on during our lesson? If this lesson is intended for your child who is struggling with a concept or if this is an extension lesson. I will tailor my instruction to meet your child's individual needs. 

During the first session, I will assess your students current understanding, determine any learning gaps, and begin to teach a strategy. As I spend more time with your child, it will be easier for me to gauge what your child's strengths are and where your child may need more assistance. Background information will help me better understand your child's needs. 

Possible lessons: 1-digit addition/subtraction, 2-digit addition/subtraction, addition/subtraction up to 1000, telling time to the hour/half hour/nearest 5 minutes, basic multiplication (1-12), basic division (dividing by 1-12), solving word problems (single skill or mixed word problems: addition/subtraction or, multiplication/division)
