Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Mrs. Angela Ryan! I recently got married this past October, and I have now changed my name from Ms. Angela Capozzi. I am currently working towards a Master's and certification in Early Childhood Education, with a concentration in grades Pre-K to 3. I also have a Bachelor's in Psychology. I currently teach preschool, with children from ages 3 to 5 years old. We love to sing, dance, play, practice our letters, numbers, and so much more! I have been teaching preschool for 6 years, and I absolutely love it. My students call me Ms. Angela, so feel free to call me that!
I will be offering a wide variety of classes to younger students from ages 3-9.
These are the subjects that will be offered:
Early Literacy - (Identification of letters and their sounds, writing, early reading)
Early Mathematics - (Numbers, shapes, addition, subtraction, patterning, sorting, graphing)
Social-Emotional Learning - (Feelings, Turn-taking, Cooperation with others in social situations)
Arts and Crafts - (All forms of art, from expressive & process art to product art)
Science - (Live experiments, Volcanoes, Rainbows, Weather, Gardening, Nature, Animals)
Language - (Simple Italian and Spanish)
Cognitive - (Let's think! Self-portraits, Solving problems, Building with everyday objects).
My teaching philosophy is as follows:
Students are my number one priority. Allowing children to become comfortable and confident when learning is my goal. I want to guide students to be less afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are wonderful, because that means a learning opportunity is about to happen. There is no room for perfection in learning, it is a messy, yet wonderful process! Positive relationships between teacher and students are extremely important, and I try to make that possible with every student in my classes, whether in person or Outschool.
I am not only an educator, I am also a learner. In the past couple of years I have been teaching myself how to play the piano, and it is most definitely a work in progress. I also am teaching myself to knit. I have created a couple pieces including: a scarf, a winter headband, and a purse!
