Class Experience
What kids need now are fun ways to learn and practice math. This is how I keep your child challenged, motivated and excited as learn new and confusing things. There are missions to complete, minions to stop and rewards to be earned as they complete their sessions. I use award-winning games like Khan Academy to make learning fun & engaging. With these elements, badges and fun heroes, your child will feel like math-time is actually game-time with me as their math coach. Based on your child's Math grade, we can cover one or two Math topics during class. If you'd prefer an assessment, just let me know ahead of time. Based on your experience, I can cater a weekly class schedule for your child for future lessons. Topics will include: PreK Counting: Counting Numbers 0 to 120: Counting Kindergarten Counting and place value: Kindergarten Addition: Kindergarten Grade 1 Place Value Addition and Subtraction Grade 2 Add and Subtract within 20 Place Value Grade 3 Intro to multiplication: 3rd grade 1-digit multiplication: 3rd grade Grade 4 Place value: 4th grade Addition, subtraction, and estimation: 4th grade Grade 5 Decimal place value: 5th grade Add decimals: 5th grade Subtract decimals: 5th grade Grade 6 Ratios, rates, & percentages: 6th grade Arithmetic operations: 6th grade Grade 7 Negative numbers: addition and subtraction: 7th grade Negative numbers: multiplication and division: 7th grade Grade 8 Numbers and operations: 8th grade Solving equations with one unknown: 8th grade
