Get creative with digital collage using the fun and easy to use iPad app, Procreate. This app is used by professional artists and hobbyists alike. CLASS STRUCTURE DETAILS 1. Introduction to each other and collage as an art form. 2. Collage techniques introduction. 3. Students learn about and discuss scale and proportion and practice scaling an image. 4. Learn about and discuss repetition and practice repeating an image. 5. Learn about and discuss layering and practice layering images. 6. Learn about popular color schemes in collage, then view collages and identify the color scheme used. 7. Students learn how to draw on their collage. 8. Working time and questions. 9. Ideas for the future and goodbye.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to create an expressive and beautiful digital collage.
- Learn and practice design principles used in collage making using my ready made collage kit.
- Use the tools and functions necessary to manipulate images on procreate to create stunning works of collage art.
- Each design technique is followed by a practice portion where students are encouraged to perform the technique on their iPads.
- Each student will begin their own collage on their iPads. There is no pressure to finish your collage during the class period.
- We will end with final tips and ideas for future projects.Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class requires the use of an iPad, my free downloadable collage kit, the iPad app Procreate, and the Apple Pencil.
Supply List
Please use your computer for this class as we will be using our iPads to collage. Download the collage kit (a procreate document) on your iPad before coming to class. You do not have to bring your own photos today, as the collage kit includes everything you need.
