Class Experience

Hello and welcome! I am Ms. Jess
In this Black History-themed game of Jeopardy, students will put their Black History knowledge to the test in a friendly competition.
Before we begin the game, we will have a brief discussion of why Black History is important and talk about a few groundbreaking figures.
Next, we will start our game! Students won't have to answer in typical Jeopardy question format to avoid any confusion.
Rules:
Students will pick a category and a point value score to the list.
They will receive a question. If they get it correct, they gain the points.
If they get it wrong, they lose those points.
Kids love this fun game! I can't wait to see your learner soon.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello my name is Miss Jess!

Welcome to my little corner here on Outschool. I am so glad you have found interest in my courses and can't wait to teach your learner. I love to teach and have been involved with leading children since I was 16 years old when I took my first job as a Summer Camp Counselor. After years of spending summers working with children, I went on to college.
I graduated with my B.F.A in Mass Communications and minor in Race and Gender Studies, where I gained skills in topics such as photography, writing, art, editing, voice acting, radio, film, and African-American history. I also spent two years as a Pop Radio Host and when I'm not teaching online, I am working as a Voice Actress and spreading awareness about representation in these fields.
I love to connect with students and to experience that moment where I know I have taught them something that will stick with them forever. I teach a variety of subjects including photography, voice acting, arts & crafts, and Black History.
Thank you and I hope to see your student in my classroom soon!
