Class Experience

The Touch Math Curriculum will be taught beginning from 1:1 correspondence, all the way up through division.

I will begin by covering the basics of Touch Math in numbers 1-10. I will then use those for basic addition facts, moving into subtraction facts. This will increase to larger numbers.
Depending on age, I then will begin with skip counting and using the TouchMath dots to perform multiplication equations. I will end with using the dots for division. These topics are learner focused and the course can continue as needed.
-- Week 1 : (March 25 and 27) Basic 1:1 correspondence and learning Touch dots
--Week 2: ( April 1 and 3) Simple addition with TouchMath dots
--Week 3: ( April 22 and 26) Simple Subtraction with TouchMath dots
--Week 4: (May 7 and 9) Review and use for grouping/ungrouping if needed.

I will teach this course 1-2 times per week, depending on need. I will teach this curriculum as I have used it as a general and special education teacher. I will have visuals and we will practice each touch point with those visuals and manipulatives if needed.

My teaching style is full of love and relationships, in order to help them learn. My goal is to help them be successful, especially with math/numbers, which can be tricky.

Learners will interact with me and each other through the group classes and I try to be interactive as well, so if we need videos/visuals or getting up and doing kinesthetic moves for the numbers, we will. I will do what my learners need in order to be successful.
