In this multi-day class, learners will explore a range of Science subjects in a fun and interactive way. This course aims to provide meaningful learning experiences for young explorers. Each week will include a range of teaching methods and activities that are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes will include experiments, Q&A, quizzes, games, worksheets, videos and much more. Learners will be encouraged to observe, explore, question and share what they learn. A variety of methods are used to support learners and cater for different learning styles and needs. What is taught in this course? Week 1 🔹How does popcorn pop? 🔹How is tomato sauce made? Week 2 🔹How does a piano work? 🔹How do beavers build dams? Week 3 🔹How does an escalator work? 🔹How is yoghurt made? Week 4 🔹How is paper made? 🔹How does a 3D printer work? Week 5 🔹How does a toilet flush? 🔹How is bread made and sliced? Week 6 🔹How do geckos feet work? 🔹How do submarines work? Week 7 🔹How do digital cameras work? 🔹How do fitness trackers work? Week 8 🔹How do trebuchets work? 🔹How is bubblegum made? Week 9 🔹How do solar panels work? 🔹How do chopsticks work? Classes will include all elements of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. These are all areas of learning that our kids need to be comfortable with to excel in the future. STEM makes creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors. Please note, there will be reading and writing tasks in some classes. There will also be maths challenges that suit the theme of the week. Please do check the whole description when choosing this course for your learner.
