There will be no formal assessment. I do ask that your learner practice their vocabulary 10-15 minutes daily.Class Experience
In this 4-week, 2x weekly Spanish class, we will learn Spanish through imitation, practice and repetition with puppets, games, and song. Join us for a fun time as we learn Spanish songs, vocabulary about animals, home, food, clothing, and so much more. As a language teacher I use repetition in an effective way, engaging my little learner's whole body by using games, chants, song and total physical response throughout my lesson to reinforce what I am teaching in each of my classes. I do strongly encourage parents to practice vocabulary words 10-15 minutes daily that will be provided in weekly printouts for their Spanish learner. Vocabulary practice outside of class will make games much more fun for your learner to participate in. Little learners have a lot of energy and it is my goal to keep them busy and challenged as we learn Spanish. My teaching style is interactive and we learn how to introduce ourselves and make new friends using the Spanish vocabulary we already know and are currently learning. Join me and "¡Vamos a aprender español!" ** Beginning Spanish #1 and #2 is not required to take this class if your little learner already has a some basic vocabulary in Spanish. ** This class teaches new vocabulary which extends upon Part - #1 and #2 and adds new simple verbs to be practiced in sentences. So, feel free to join us in Beginning Spanish #3. This class meets CCSS (Common Core State Standards) for second languages and California SLD (Spanish Language Development) standards: WL.CM1.N, WL.CM2.N, WL.CM3.N, WL.CM4.N, WL.CM5.N, WL.CM6.N, WL.CM7.N Materials to have on hand during class: Crayons and paper to draw/write upon.
