This weekly, ongoing course will heavily focus on diseases and or dysfunctions of various organ systems. Unlike my course- “The Anatomy Voyage” (already on Outschool platform) which does an in- depth study of the organ systems anatomy, this class will offer a general anatomy introduction of the highlighted organ system of the week to allow concentration on the actual diseases and or dysfunctions affecting that organ system. The course will provide the student with opportunity of learning how a diseased or dysfunctional organ can disrupt homeostasis (the equilibrium of a healthy body system). Each week 's class is a stand-alone (meaning that the learner can drop in and out of their subscription at any point). A different organ system weekly, however an identical format of isolating minimal of 3 and maximum of 5 diseases or dysfunctions impairing that organ resulting in abnormal function. There will be (11) weekly sessions - beginning Week of 1/17/20 1)The diseases and dysfunctions of the Brain- following in succession 2)The diseases and dysfunctions of the Heart 3)The diseases and dysfunctions of the Lungs 4) The diseases and dysfunctions of the Spinal Cord 5) The diseases and dysfunctions of Integumentary System 6) The diseases and dysfunctions of Digestive System 7) The diseases and dysfunctions of Muscles 8) The diseases and dysfunctions of Bones and 9) The disease and dysfunctions of the Endocrine system. The course will be intellectually challenging but age appropriate. The classes are highly interactive with class participation, discussions and power point slides and or videos. This class will be a great optional course for the science buff, and or those with health careers aspiration. * Please note that this course is purely informational and not to be substituted for seeking of professional medical advice. *
Learning Goals
Students will gain a greater appreciation for a healthy body once learning how various diseases and or dysfunctions affect various organ systems disrupting homeostasis. They will be expose to some external and internal factors contributing to such diseased or dysfunctional organ systems.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Doctoral Degree from Utica College
A Doctor of Physical Therapy- Doctoral Studies in Education. My Doctoral Physical Therapy program curriculum required an in- depth study of Anatomy/ Physiology, Neuro Anatomy (among other sciences) and Human Dissection of every body organ. My State Physical Therapy Licensure requires me to attend 30 hours of continued education every 2 years(staying abreast of documented advances and research of disability as pertaining to dysfunctional organisms. I have practiced physical therapist for 39 years-treating pediatrics (newborn-through adulthood) geriatrics(65 year plus population) and all ages in between providing rehabilitation and education to debilitated patients due to dysfunction of bodily organs. During the course of my 39 years as practicing therapist , I have trained and supervised physical therapy students. Worked as a team player with medical doctors/surgeons, nurses and other allied health professionals to restore patients with physical limitations due to unhealthy function of bodily organs(whether from disease process, aging, trauma, genetics.)
