Intermediate Level
This course will heavily focus on the common injuries (i.e., strains, sprains, tears, dislocations, fractures, etc.) affecting the musculoskeletal system whether due to microtrauma, overuse, poor techniques etc.) Unlike my course- “The Anatomy Voyage” (already on Outschool platform) which does an in- depth study of the organ systems anatomy, this class will offer a general anatomy introduction of the musculoskeletal grouping to allow concentration on the actual injuries. The classes are highly interactive with class participation, discussions and power point slides and or videos. This class will be a great optional course for the science buff, sport and or health enthusiast. The course is ongoing so will provide weekly subject matter per groupings of musculoskeletal regions. 1)Week of 1/28/2024-General Anatomy and Identifiers of Musculoskeletal Injuries 2) Week of 2/04/2024- Injuries pertaining to Hands/Wrists/Feet and Ankles 3) Week of 2/11//2024-Injuries pertaining to Knees/Shoulders 4) Week of 2/18/2024- Injuries pertaining to Hips/Pelvis 5) Week of 2/25/2024-Injuries pertaining to Neck and Back 6) Important Facts About Bones , Muscles and Joints * Please note that this course is purely informational and not to be substituted for seeking of professional medical advice. *
Learning Goals
Student will not only learn about such injuries (i.e., strains, sprains, tears, dislocations, fractures, etc.) affecting musculoskeletal system but will also become familiarized with some causes of injuries, re-injuries and physical burnout. Hopefully, upon completion will be able to apply experience to sport and or every day activities.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Doctoral Degree from Utica College
A Doctor of Physical Therapy- Doctoral Studies in Education. My Doctoral Physical Therapy program curriculum required an in- depth study of Anatomy/ Physiology, Neuro Anatomy (among other sciences) and Human Dissection of every body organ. My State Physical Therapy Licensure requires me to attend 30 hours of continued education every 2 years(staying abreast of documented advances and research of disability as pertaining to dysfunctional organisms. My Continued Education process has also incorporated topics in health /wellness /pain management and injury prevention. I have practiced physical therapist for 42 years-treating during this period pediatrics (newborn-through adulthood) geriatrics(65 year plus population) and all ages in between providing rehabilitation and education to debilitated patients due to dysfunction of bodily organs. During the course of my 42years as practicing therapist , I have trained and supervised physical therapy students. Worked as a team player with medical doctors/surgeons, nurses and other allied health professionals to restore patients with physical limitations due to unhealthy function of bodily organs(whether from disease process, aging, trauma, genetics.)
