US Grade Pre-Kindergarten
In this class students will learn how to identify letters by the sounds that they make. They will then learn and practice blending sounds to form words and sentences. Each lesson will include practice identifying sounds, blending words, rhyming, new vocabulary, comprehension and writing. I will teach from slides and also use my hands and body movements to help with understanding, for example: counting sounds when sounding out words and demonstrating how to form our mouths to create the correct sounds. Slides will be interactive so students should have access to their writing tools via the Zoom annotation bar. Students will learn how to read in this class. Students can join at anytime and feel comfortable learning because lessons are repetitive and all information taught is revisited during each lesson. *no prior knowledge is necessary for students to enjoy and be successful in this class. Other Details
Supply List
It will be very helpful if students are able to access their writing tools from the Zoom annotation bar. If this is not possible they should have a pencil, crayons and paper or a marker and whiteboard available to write with. It is a goal to have some time for writing after each reading lesson. On occasion, depending on the students in class and how much time they require to complete the lesson, we may not make it to the writing portion.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
